What to Expect After Face Lift Surgery
When you are contemplating having facelift surgery, there are some things that you should think about and consider what you will need special attention during your recovery. Here are a couple of items to keep in mind.
The number one thing you need to be aware of is that you will have to wear bandages for a short while. The bandages can stay on from 1 to 10 days depending on the extent of the surgery you had.
During this time you will not be able to see, touch or feel your face, however when the doctor removes the bandages it will be more than worth the wait.
Something else you need to realize is that there will be some pain as well as swelling and bruises and it is not always a pretty sight. The pain and swelling will be much more intense the first few days after your surgery and will gradually dissipate with time, however the bruises tend to get worse before they get better…don’t get discouraged.
Your individual pain tolerance will dictate how much pain you actually feel. Some people experience higher pain than others. Your doctor will provide you with prescriptions that will help to ease your discomfort.
Always remember that patience is a virtue and you will need to use this patience for a few days after your facelift surgery is completed. It may be awkward for your to move your eyes, speak or even eat due to pain and swelling, however this will go away!
To ease this you may have to talk less and eat liquid foods for a couple of days…remember patience! In a few days you will be looking at a refreshed face and it will be well worth any pain or discomfort you have tolerated.
